Salvador Dali's works travel through Angola and arrive in Huíla

The exhibition “The Conquest of the Cosmos,” entirely dedicated to the master of surrealism and one of the most emblematic figures of 20th-century art, has left Luanda and is now arriving in Huíla, where it will remain until the end of the month.

After an initial presentation in the capital, this is the second stage of the national exhibition tour of works by this renowned Spanish painter, bringing to Lubango a complete and exclusive set of 11 original prints, produced in 1974, signed in pencil by the artist himself and numbered within a limited edition of only 195 copies worldwide.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition at ISCED Huíla was attended by José Amaro, a representative of FUNIBER and the International University of Cuanza (UNIC), who emphasized the importance of the initiative.

"The inauguration of this extraordinary exhibition, organized in partnership with the Spanish Embassy in Angola, FUNIBER, the International University of Cuanza, the European University of the Atlantic, and with the support of ENSA – Seguros de Angola and AJS, marks the debut of this specific collection in Angola. It is also a way of reaffirming our commitment to Angola, especially in this year of its 50th anniversary of independence."

The representative also highlighted Angola's role on the African scene as a cultural and diplomatic hub, strengthening FUNIBER's connection with the country through academic and artistic projects.

In turn, Amália Quintão, director of ENSA, emphasized that the initiative aligns with the company's strategy of decentralizing access to culture, bringing internationally renowned art beyond the country's capital.

"This exhibition is more than an art showcase. It is a cultural bridge between Angola and the world and a unique opportunity for direct contact with Salvador Dalí's brilliant vision."

"The Conquest of the Cosmos" is an integral part of FUNIBER's collection and presents a "mature, experimental, and profoundly visionary" Salvador Dalí, transporting visitors to a universe where imagination and technique meet in perfect harmony," the organization said in a statement sent to VerAngola.

The exhibition will be open to the public until August 31st, with free admission.
