Lobito opens hotel unit that created more than 250 jobs

Called “Residencial BelleVue”, the newest hotel unit in the city of Lobito, in the province of Benguela, promises to strengthen accommodation services while creating employment opportunities in the region. Inaugurated this Saturday, the guest house has created 283 direct jobs and more than 700 indirect jobs.

Located in the Restinga neighbourhood, on Avenida Lisboa, Residencial BelleVue has a total of eight floors, comprising four two-bedroom apartments, 16 three-bedroom apartments and two four-bedroom apartments. All types of apartments are equipped with electrical appliances and sanitary materials, in order to provide comfort and security for guests, explained the owner of the development, Etienne Brechet.

The residential complex's infrastructure also includes facilities for installing the Internet, office areas, a gym, a bakery, a wastewater treatment plant, as well as a car park with capacity for 22 cars and a multipurpose area that promises to offer more services soon.

Quoted by the Lobito Municipal Administration, the official stated that the new unit generated 283 direct jobs and 707 indirect jobs.

The Secretary of the President of the Republic for the Production Sector, Isaac dos Anjos, was present at the inauguration and highlighted the fact that the province of Benguela continues to be a good place for investment. The leader stated that making Benguela the 'Angolan California' is not just a promise, "it is a beacon that should serve as a guide for sailors, businesspeople, investors and the public administration".

The deputy governor for the Technical Sector and Infrastructure, Adilson Gonçalves - present on behalf of the governor of the province, Luís Nunes - stated that the government has been working to facilitate private initiatives that aim to promote more and more projects with a social and economic impact for the province.
