Among those called up, five play in Portugal, namely goalkeeper Ricardo Batista, from Casa Pia, defenders Jonathan Buatu and Sandro Cruz, from Gil Vicente, midfielder Keliano, from Estrela de Amadora, and forward Depú, from Gil Vicente.
Angolan defender Bastos Quissanga, from Botafogo do Rio de Janeiro, returned to the squad after three years of absence on the orders of the FAF board, due to alleged indiscipline. His call-up comes days after several Angolans, via social media, promised not to support the Angolan national team if the central defender, who is in great form at Botafogo, was not called up.
Angola will face Ghana on 5 September, in Kumasi, Ghana, and four days later, they will host Sudan in Luanda, in the first and second rounds.
