"The young Angolan basketball player Ana Serviço, 16 years old and 1.82 meters tall, was elected today [Tuesday] the best defender in the 20th edition of the Basketball Without Borders-Africa camp, which took place from the 3rd to the 6th of this month, in Johannesburg, South Africa", the statement reads.
In addition, the FAB adds, the athlete, representing 1.º de Agosto, was also "selected for the All Star, helping her team win the event".
In addition to the 16-year-old, the country also had the participation of four other male athletes: Josemar Ribeiro, Graciano Didier Lebondzo N'tonha, Celestino Manda Nfuka Augusto and Leondro Sola de Carvalho.
"Josemar Ribeiro stood out in the winning team, coached by Ekpe Udoh and Angolan athlete Bruno Fernando," the note reads.
This camp, organized by the NBA in partnership with FIBA, brought together 60 "young talents" from 24 African countries.
