Cuban PM received by João Lourenço in a meeting dominated by Angola-Cuba cooperation

The Prime Minister of Cuba, Manuel Cruz, was received, this Friday, by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, in an audience that served to analyze the state of cooperation relations between the two countries.

According to the Cuban Prime Minister, quoted in a statement from CIPRA, to which VerAngola had access, in the meeting with João Lourenço they analysed "the current state of cooperation relations between Angola and Cuba, in the political, economic, diplomatic and commercial domains".

In statements to the press, at the end of the meeting, Manuel Cruz also emphasised the importance of bilateral relations and expressed the desire of his country's authorities to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation in areas such as trade, health, education and agriculture, writes Angop.

On the occasion, he said that both countries have the potential to achieve "high-level cooperation".

"The two countries have the potential to achieve high-level cooperation with reciprocal interests and advantages", he pointed out.

In addition to the state of relations, the Cuban Prime Minister said that the meeting also served to convey a message from his Cuban counterpart to João Lourenço: "It was an opportunity to convey to President João Lourenço a message of friendship and fraternity from his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Diaz Canel," he said, quoted in the CIPRA note.

Manuel Cruz – who leads the Cuban delegation made up of several members of the Cuban government – ​​arrived in Luanda last Thursday for a 72-hour visit.
