Prime Minister of Cuba in Angola for a 72-hour visit

Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister of Cuba, is in Angola for a 72-hour official visit. The agenda of the Cuban leader, who arrived in Luanda late Thursday afternoon, includes, among others, the laying of a wreath at the sarcophagus of the first President of the Republic, Agostinho Neto, as well as a tribute to the Cuban commander, Raúl Garcia.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to which VerAngola had access, the Cuban Prime Minister was received at the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport by Maria Ramiro, Secretary of State for Administration, Finance and Heritage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as by Manuel António Gonçalves, Vice-Governor of the Province of Luanda for the Political and Social Sector, Maria Cândida Teixeira, Angolan Ambassador accredited to Cuba, among others.

In Luanda, Manuel Cruz will lay, on Saturday morning, "a wreath of flowers at the sarcophagus of António Agostinho Neto, the first President of the Republic of Angola, followed by a tribute to the Cuban commander, Raúl Díaz Arguelles Garcia, at the Alto das Cruzes Cemetery".

In addition, the program of his visit also includes a guided tour of the Meditex Clinic, as well as a meeting with Angolan businesspeople.

A meeting is also planned with the Angola-Cuba Friendship Association and with the Cuban community living in Angola.
