According to the Secretary of the President of the Republic for Institutional Communication and Press Affairs, Luís Fernando, João Lourenço's agenda for this Friday includes the inauguration of the province's new hospital, named 'Simione Mucune'.
"On Friday we will have another major highlight of this presidential mission, the inauguration of the Cunene General Hospital, which will be named after one of our legendary commanders in the country's defence, General Simione Mucune", said the secretary, quoted in a video released by CIPRA and to which VerAngola had access.
According to Luís Fernando, the inauguration of the hospital "will take place on Friday afternoon". However, before the inauguration ceremony, the President of the Republic will meet with the governor of Cunene, Gerdina Didalelwa.
The Local Governance Council meeting is scheduled for Saturday. "For now, all the provincial governors and the various ministers responsible for the Executive's portfolios will be travelling with the Head of State to Ondjiva for another Local Government Council", said Luís Fernando, who explained that this council is a "broad meeting, where the state of each of the country's 18 provinces is thoroughly examined, what is being done, what is being built or planned is discussed, and the progress is looked at and the reasons for this or that delay are examined".
On the third and final day of the visit, Sunday, João Lourenço's agenda includes a trip to the municipality of Cuvelai, for an inspection visit to the works on the Ndué dam.
"The last major moment of the President's working visit will take place on Sunday, when he will visit the municipality of Cuvelai, where the Ndué dam is being built, as part of the Government's initiatives to combat the effects of drought in the critical southern region of Angola. It is a water giant that will benefit more than 50,000 families and ensure water for livestock in an area of 60,000 animals", said the Secretary of the President of the Republic for Institutional Communication and Press Affairs.
