According to a company statement, Africell Angola's network now covers a population of nearly 15 million people.
Africell's products and services will be available to customers in the province of Huíla, which has a population of nearly two and a half million inhabitants and an economy focused on agriculture, mining and other industries.
Namibe and Huambo are the next provinces included in the expansion plan of the North American capital operator, the fourth to enter the national market.
To date, Africell has recruited nearly 300 employees and agents in Huíla, says the operator.
Africell is the only US mobile network operator in sub-Saharan Africa, with the US Government, through the Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the company's largest outside investor. It provides mobile network coverage and technology services to more than 16 million subscribers in sub-Saharan Africa and operates in Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sierra Leone and The Gambia.
