The leader of the parliamentary group of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA), Liberty Chiaka, considered, in a press conference, that this is a very important process for the consolidation of democracy and underlined that "it is not a question of parties politicians, to be discussed in communiqués in a belligerent spirit", in an allusion to the response of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) to his proposal.

"The President of the Republic is not a king in the style of Louis XIV, he is not a soba, he is not the holy Pope. The President of the Republic is a public agent, subject to the constitutional institute of accountability", reinforced the party leader, stressing that the owner of power is the people and that the people have the right to scrutinize the governance.

And he asked: "why so afraid?"

The deputy called for Angola to "cross the line of partisanship in order to grow" and stressed that the seizure and exercise of political power in ways not foreseen or in accordance with the Constitution are illegitimate.

"It's all within the institutions, there is no riot, there are no weapons. There is calm, serenity, why so much concern", stressed the parliamentary leader, saying that life goes on, whether or not there is dismissal.

"If the instruction process provides and validates evidence that there were violations of the Constitution, treason, bribery or corruption on the part of the President of the Republic, any of these crimes, just one, the process will follow its procedures. of the National Assembly", he explained, listing the procedures to be followed in parliament, including the fact that the process can be initiated by a third of the deputies.

The deputy pointed out three types of responsibility for the exercise of the position (legal, political and specific criminal) and also clarified legal issues at the press conference, related to the UNITA initiative.

He stressed that "when the time comes for the vote, the deputies will not be afraid of anyone" because those who vote to remove the President of the Republic are not the MPLA, or UNITA, or the PRS-FNLA, or the PHA (parties with seats parliament), but the people, through their envoys to the National Assembly.

Everyone will vote freely, in the name of the people, according to their conscience, said Liberty Chiaka, adding that it is an "exercise of democracy carried out with patriotic responsibility, political and moral elevation, tolerance, urbanity, a sense of mission and a sense of of State".

She also insisted that, under the terms of the National Assembly's bylaws, in a presidential removal process "the vote is secret".
