In the plenary session of the National Assembly, deputies from the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) reacted to the proposal by the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) to remove the President, accusing the opposition of resorting to disinformation tactics.

In the discussions, in plenary session, on the legislative authorization bills that authorize the President to deduct the investment premium based on the Petroleum Income Tax in the Concessions of blocks 18/15, 46 and 47, UNITA deputies also criticized the country's current reality and the MPLA deputies, in response, expressed "solidarity" with João Lourenço.

"I take this opportunity to encourage the comrade President of the Republic to continue for the well-being of Angolans, we are with you comrade President", said the MPLA deputy, Helena Vando Marciano, at the end of her speech.

Who also intervened and said "being" with the President, also leader of the MPLA, was the deputy of the "comrades" Armando Capunda recalling that João Lourenço "was legitimately elected by the Angolan people".

The UNITA parliamentary group presented, a week ago, a proposal to remove João Lourenço, claiming that the President "subverted the democratic process in the country and consolidated an authoritarian regime that threatens peace".

Doctrinal, political-constitutional and political performance foundations constitute the axes of UNITA's initiative, referring that João Lourenço's governance "is against democracy, against social peace and against national independence".

In reaction, a day later, the MPLA accused UNITA of being "irresponsible" and of wanting to rise to power "without legitimacy", stating that its deputies will take measures to prevent the Angolan parliament from being instrumentalized.

"In view of the established reality, the seriousness of the accusations and acts that have been irresponsibly carried out by UNITA, against the President of the Republic, Head of State, Holder of Executive Power and Commander-in-Chief of the Angolan Armed Forces, the MPLA's Political Bureau advises its parliamentary group to take all measures to ensure that the Angolan parliament is not exploited, to carry out plans based on a clear subversive agenda, immature and of total political irresponsibility", said the secretary for the Information from the MPLA Political Bureau, Rui Falcão.

This Wednesday, during discussions on tax incentives for oil blocks 18/15, 46 and 47, MPLA deputy João Pilamosi Domingos accused UNITA of "critically criticizing and condemning without foundation" the President's legislative initiative.

The intervention of this MPLA deputy was interrupted several times, with points of order, mainly from UNITA deputies, who refuted his arguments, a situation that generated a climate of tension between both parliamentary groups.

"The President (of the Republic) João Lourenço, as long as he manages our money, will be the target of our positive criticism, do not come here with potty speeches, stop it, we are here to represent the people", replied the UNITA deputy Nelito Ekuikui.

To "put in order" Nelito Ekukui, MPLA deputy Crispiniano dos Santos considered that the fact that the President of the Republic is a manager "deserves respect from all the people to continue to better manage the people's money".

When taking the floor again, deputy João Pilamosi Domingos also accused UNITA of "wanting at all costs to create chaos among Angolans by resorting to disinformation, sowing false news, jeopardizing the image of the President of the Republic".

"And (create), above all, the population's feeling of insecurity, as if that were not enough, they even believe that they would be capable of disrupting the unity and cohesion within the MPLA", he pointed out.

The MPLA deputy said more: "Disunity and divergence is an endemic plague within UNITA, it was like this in 1994 when they created the renewed UNITA, in 2012 there were dissidents who formed the CASA-CE (coalition of parties then led by Abel Chivukuvuku ), the disease is so chronic", he shot.

In reaction, the president of the UNITA parliamentary group, Liberty Chiyaka, minimized the criticism of his party, referring that all deputies, while they are in parliament, "must remember that they are representatives of the people", he stressed, amid jeers from the deputies of the MPLA.

"We all know that the deputy (João Pilamosi Domingos) is out of order, but he is so nervous, be calm, be calm, be calm, be calm. Why are you worried? Here in this house we are free, here superior orders do not prevail, let it be clear!", pointed out the "maninho" Chiyaka.

On her side, the president of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, also intervened, asking for "calm, serenity" and an end to "conflicts of words" for the continuation of work in the plenary.
