Recalling that FLEC's commitment is to "bring independence to the territory of Cabinda and force, through dialogue or weapons, the decolonization" of the enclave, the movement's leadership stressed, in a statement, that "the elections to be held in Angola , the country that occupies Cabinda, are not Cabinda elections".
"Participating in Cabinda in Angolan elections is collaborating with the bloody occupation of Cabinda, humiliating our martyrs and our elders, but also mortgages the political future of Cabinda", reads the communiqué of the independence movement.
He continues: "The political leadership of FLEC-FAC only wishes the Angolan people to free themselves through their elections from the MPLA dictatorship and the entire MPLA oligarchy that has strangled the Angolan people since Angola's independence".
