Manuel Jaime and Juliana Moco will represent the national flag in the competition, revealed António da Luz, head of mission, who added that for lack of vacancies, Regina Ndumbo will not be present at the event.

"Regrettably we couldn't fit Regina (...). We were informed that there are no vacancies for more athletes so Angola will be represented by Manuel Jaime who will do the 1500 meters and Juliana Moco who will do the 100, 200 and 400 meters. Therefore, Regina is here with us in Portugal but will return to Luanda," he said, speaking to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

The official made it known that this Wednesday leaves for Tokyo "the advance group".

On Thursday afternoon, the delegation will get to know the place where they will be staying and "all the conditions that the town offers to sports delegations," explained António da Luz.

"Then we will work towards waiting for the 21st (...) we will receive our delegation in Tokyo, so the group is scheduled to leave on the 20th in the morning via Frankfurt and then arrive in Tokyo on the 21st," he said, quoted by RNA.

After this arrival, an adaptation period will follow, with the delegation participating, on the 24th, in the opening week and, from August 28th on, they will start competing, he explained.

António da Luz completed saying that the internship in Portugal is "going the best way possible".
