Football Federation with no money for Qatar World Cup campaign

Angolan Football Federation vice-president, José Carlos Miguel, said this Wednesday, in Luanda, that the federation has no money for the internship in Portugal, aiming at the double commitment to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.

In the race for the World Championship, in 2022, the team will face, on 2 September, the Egyptian counterpart, in Cairo, and a week later, Libya, in Luanda, in group F games in the African zone.

"We plan to concentrate the team in Portugal, on August 29, because the first game will be in Egypt, and the players that the coach plans to take play in Europe and, from an economic point of view, it's cheaper for us to follow later to Egypt. At the moment I am talking to you, we do not have any financial availability to cover expenses in Portugal. We have a guaranteed hotel and an internship center, where we have already made reservations, but the deadline for payment of the hotel ends tomorrow (Thursday We are 'hands and feet tied'. We are making efforts to see if we can resolve this situation through some companies," said the vice president of the Angolan Football Federation.

The squad of the national football team, led by Portuguese Pedro Gonçalves, for the duo aimed at the World Cup in 2022, in Qatar, will be announced on 23 August.
