Speaking at the end of the hearing, the secretary of the organization, who began a three-day visit to Angola on Monday, said that the economic sector is one of the priorities of the CPLP.
The period of meetings of the secretariat in the next two years and matters relating to the revision of the statutes of the CPLP were also examined at the hearing.
Cited by Angop, the secretary also spoke about issues related to covid-19: questioned about the impact of the pandemic in the CPLP countries, the official considered that cooperation should be strengthened in order to overcome adversities.
Already Teté António argued that for the commitments made at the Summit of Heads of State and Government, which took place in July, to be successful there must be cooperation between the presidency of the CPLP and the secretariat and stressed that Angola, by having in hand the presidency of the organization, is responsible for working together with the secretariat of the CPLP in order to implement the goals outlined.
During his visit, the CPLP secretary will still meet with the ministers of Culture, Tourism and Environment and of Youth and Sports. He is also expected to be received by the President, João Lourenço.
