It is estimated that the installation of the factory will start in the next few days, since about 70 percent of the equipment is already in Soyo, said the project administrator, Alcatir Costa.

Speaking to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), Costa said that the physical implementation of the project was between 65 and 70 percent, and that in about four months the first tests were expected to begin.

"We have a forecast that in four to five months we will start the initial tests, which are expected to last three to four months, and in this period we can then make the solemn act and inauguration", explained the administrator.

According to Alcatir Costa, in an initial phase the factory will generate about 900 jobs for young people in the province.

After its conclusion, the factory will be capable of processing around 60,000 tons of fish per year and 5,000 per month, RNA reported.
