BNA announces the start of construction of a logistics center budgeted at 32.7 billion kwanzas

The National Bank of Angola (BNA) announced this Thursday the start of construction of its logistics center for storage, treatment and distribution of cash, budgeted at 32.7 billion kwanzas, awarded to the construction company Omatapalo.

In a statement, the BNA said that its governor, José Massano, laid on Tuesday the first stone of the project to build its 'Cash Center' - a logistics center for storage, processing and distribution of cash.

The BNA's 'Cash Center' is being built in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE), municipality of Viana, whose construction contract was awarded to the company Omatapalo, following a "public tender by prior qualification".

According to the note, the deputy director of the Patrimony and Services department of the BNA, João Mussunga, and the General Director of Production of Omatapalo, Pedro Chambel, signed the contract for the work, which should be completed within 10 months.

This logistics center "will provide a high capacity for processing and storing notes and metallic coins and will have equipment and features that will ensure the processing of cash with greater security, reliability and efficiency," guarantees the central bank.

The construction of the 'Cash Center', says the BNA, is part of the process of "modernizing the management of the circulating medium, aiming to obtain the necessary performance to the required configurations, based on international best practices" on the matter.
