"As part of the process of modernizing the management of the circulating medium, the National Bank of Angola is implementing the project to build the "Cash Center", consisting of a logistics center for the storage, processing and distribution of cash, in order to obtain the necessary performance to the required configurations, based on international best practices on the subject," said a statement published on the BNA website.
In the note, the central bank indicates that in February this year it launched a limited tender by prior qualification to hire a company to build the "Cash Center".
After the tender procedures were completed, the construction was awarded to Omatapalo, the BNA said.
According to the note, the project will cost 32.7 billion kwanzas and the "work should be carried out within a period of 10 months, in the Special Economic Zone".
