Trade room will be a guarantee of support for investors betting in the country

The meeting between the Minister of Economy and Planning, Sérgio Santos, the governor of the National Bank of Angola (BNA), José de Lima Massano, and the judge president of the Superior Council of the Judiciary, Joel Leonardo, was marked by the opening of the Commercial, Intellectual and Industrial Property Room of the District Court of Luanda.

:

This will be the first room to be opened in the country and, according to Jornal de Angola, will help to improve the business environment and consequently attract more private investment.

The room will perform several functions that will help investors to solve possible problems related to business activity. Among the various skills of the Trade Room is the preparation and adjudication of insolvency proceedings, resolution of company recovery proceedings, annulments of articles of association, nullities, activities related to industrial property, copyright, among others.

For the Director of Institutional Communication and Press of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, António Cruz, this "is an institution that was much expected, because it is framed in the reform of Law and Justice that takes place in the country".

"It's a very important element because it gives investors the guarantee that, should any problem arise in the exercise of their activity, in the country, they have a place to appeal, which was not the case before", he added.

The Trade Room, which should open soon, will operate on the first and second floors of the former premises of the Ministry of Economy and Planning. According to the same newspaper, the premises were handed over by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights to the Superior Council of the Judiciary in May.

In a statement, the Ministry of Economy and Planning revealed that the works to adapt the building as well as the furniture have already been done.

According to the same document, the law provides for the functioning of this room, but issues related to trade are still being examined by judges of common jurisdiction.
