The economist occupies 93rd position in the table, composed of 100 African women from 34 countries that have been making a difference and changing the narrative and the role of women in the continent.
Vera Daves is the first woman to occupy the position of Minister of Finance in Angola. She was born in Luanda and has a degree in Economics from the Catholic University of Angola.
At a professional level, Vera Daves assumed the presidency of the Capital Market Commission between September 2016 and October 2017. She was also a Finance Technician at Sonangol ESSA and Director of the Products and Research Office of Banco Privado Atlântico.
According to Avance Media, for this year's list, women have been chosen who have stood out on a professional level in several areas: politics, activism, entrepreneurship, entertainment, diplomacy and business leadership.
The company also reveals that the youngest woman on the list is Emma Theofelus, Namibia's Deputy Minister of Information, Communication and Technology, who is only 24 years old.
