All citizens calling the emergency terminal reporting a false alarm situation will have their number blocked. The numbers will be added to a blacklist and those citizens lose the right to receive help from the security authorities, even in a real emergency.
"The application of this system is due to the fact that the body assigned to the Ministry of the Interior, since its inauguration, has been the target of false and abusive calls that run to obstruct the emergency line, preventing the citizen who is in a real emergency condition," explains the CISP, in a statement quoted by Angop.
This Wednesday alone, the center received 6472 calls: only 359 were valid, 5985 were invalid, 67 of consultations and 61 of records, exemplified the CISP.
The note goes on to say that these false alarms disturb the good functioning of the line and have caused the movement of the few resources available for situations that are not real.
The CISP also leaves an appeal to citizens: to use the emergency terminal only when there is a situation that really requires the authorities to act or to make reports of criminal offences.
