"Amanheceu", which will be released on 9 July, is the successor to his debut album, "Trovador", which he released at the beginning of last year.

The new album by the Portuguese-Angolan musician is described by the label as "deeply personal and mature, which combines Afro sounds, family stories and the renewal of an artist who is once again writing under his own name".

Among the ten songs that make up "Amanheceu", three have been revealed over the last few weeks: "Beijo roubado", "Olhar" and "Crescer".

"With a notable presence in the fields of production and instrumental composition, the strong prevalence of Afro beats and sounds combines with his unmistakable melodic style, in a combination of influences that have made him the artist he is today: even more mature than he had shown us before, Ivandro opens his heart like never before throughout ten songs that start from him, but are not limited to him", reads the label's statement.

Ivandro has millions of views on online music and video platforms. "Moça", "Lua", "Como tu", a song he recorded with Bárbara Bandeira, and "Perfume", a duet with Brazilian Lumilla, are some of his most popular songs.

In February last year, when his debut album was released, he shared with Lusa that, because he doesn't fit into just one musical style, he feels like a troubadour.

"I'm not a pop singer, because I also do Afro. I'm not an Afro singer, because I also do pop. I'm not a hip-hop singer, because I do pop. Not knowing how to fit in, or what style I fit into at the moment, I feel like a troubadour. I just feel the need to make music to express myself, to tell others what I have to say, and I like doing that", Ivandro said at the time, in an interview with Lusa.

Self-taught, when he was little he "cried for a guitar" and his parents ended up buying it. It was with it that he began to play and sing songs by other artists.

It was in Algueirão-Mem Martins, a parish in the municipality of Sintra (Portugal), where he moved when he was 3 years old having just arrived from Angola, that he met the friends to whom he owes the inspiration and motivation to dedicate himself to music, as well as some of the luck he has had along the way.

The first songs were shared more than ten years ago on the YouTube channel that he still maintains. At the time, the channel was called 'why not records' and, in the meantime, he changed it to his artistic name, Ivandro (his name is Joaquim Ivandro Paulo).

When he saw artists such as Anselmo Ralph and Justin Bieber on stage, he was "amazing" by the way "their music made people feel things, both euphoric and cry. All because of a song". At those moments, he imagined himself in that position and wondered if it would ever be possible.

At one time, Ivandro was a Jehovah's Witness – today he maintains his faith, continues to believe in God, but is not a practicing believer – and the meetings of that religious movement included singing praises.

Ivandro's career also included television talent shows. At the age of 17, he competed on "Ídolos" and two years later he took part in "Got Talent Portugal".

Along the way to his debut album, Ivandro also highlights the musician Firmino Pascoal, the father of the musician, and one of Ivandro's great friends, Tristany.

It was around this time that he put down the guitar, switched to the computer and began "recording people and producing".

The rapper Bispo, who like Ivandro and Tristany grew up in Mem Martins, invited the singer to accompany him in concerts, in the choir.

Bispo is one of several artists who participated in Ivandro's debut album, along with Van Zee, Julinho KSD, Instinto26, M Huncho, Slow J, Pikika, Vitor Kley, Agnes Nunes, Marisa Liz and António Zambujo.

Ivandro was also one of the guest composers at the Festival da Canção in 2023, and has received nominations and awards at the PLAY - Portuguese Music Awards.
