Thus, although some constraints made the work impossible to carry out quickly, residents of both municipalities now have easier movement between both municipalities.
"Despite the constraints that made the work's speed unfeasible, once the engineering work was carried out, the provincial governor of Luanda, Manuel Gomes da Conceição Homem, returned to Malueca Bridge this Tuesday, 9th of July, to return the infrastructure that connects the municipalities of Cacuaco and Cazenga", informed the government of the province of Luanda (GPL), in a statement to which VerAngola had access.
GPL, says the note, took the opportunity to praise the "teams involved, with emphasis on representatives of construction companies and employees, and the engagement of the municipal administrations of Cacuaco and Cazenga".
The governor himself also did not let this feat go unnoticed. Using his personal Facebook page, Manuel Homem wrote that after a decade of experiencing various constraints, they were finally able to deliver the bridge.
"First thing in the morning, we returned the Malueca Bridge, an infrastructure that, after 10 years of countless constraints, was finally handed over to the residents of Cacuaco and Cazenga", he wrote.
The opening of the bridge takes place approximately one month after Manuel Homem was on site to observe the works. On May 10, the provincial governor visited the engineering work on the bridge, and at the time it was found that they were proceeding smoothly.
At the time, GPL said, in a statement, that residents had expressed "huge concern about the state of the Malueca bridge", which led GPL, within the scope of the Program Governar Juntos at Cazenga, to travel to the location to "guarantee the continuity of the work that had been paralyzed for some time", and on that occasion, Manuel Homem verified that the engineering works were proceeding smoothly.
Before that, in April, the governor of Luanda had already made a visit to verify and evaluate the works. At the time, it was stated that "the constraints in the work of the Malueca bridge had been overcome", with the contractor guaranteeing "to have created the technical and operational conditions for the continuity of the work that had been paralyzed for some time", according to informed GPL at that time.
