Omatapalo will be the company responsible for the contract, which will consist of "rehabilitation of the road, reinforcement of the thickness of the paving, public lighting, sidewalks, application of signage gantries and works of art", according to a statement from the company, sent to VerAngola.
Therefore, the company will begin rehabilitation work on the aforementioned road, "over a 71.8 kilometer stretch of the Cunje/Catabola/Camacupa section, with a view to improving the safety and fluidity of road traffic in the province of Bié".

Expected to last two years, the rehabilitation is budgeted at more than 68 billion kwanzas, and "will enable the socioeconomic expansion of the southern and eastern corridor of the country, facilitating the main connection with the Republic of Zambia", as well as allowing "better access to schools, health centers and other local administration services, in addition to promoting the development of agricultural production, mining and timber industries", reads the statement.
The ceremony consigning the work to Omatapalo took place this Monday and was witnessed by the Minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, Carlos Alberto dos Santos, by the governor of Bié, Pereira Alfredo, as well as by representatives of the Angola Roads Institute, of Inspection (Exergia Angola) and the contractor.
