According to "Tanaice Neutro", the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) won the 2022 general elections, officially won by the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), due to the "great support of society".
"Nobody, absolutely nobody hands power over on a platter. The opposition [UNITA] won, but once again negotiated just like in 2017, so when the opposition hands over power it doesn't hand over power on a platter, there are negotiations", said the activist at a conference in press.
The musician, already free for almost three weeks, who spoke about the circumstances of his arrest, in January 2022, before the August elections of the same year, said that "UNITA negotiated power with the MPLA in exchange for benefits".
He recalled that the "maninhos" party, which won 90 seats in parliament (2022-2027 legislature) almost twice as much as in previous elections, had "great support from citizens, including MPLA members and militants" in the elections, but they "disappointed" the citizens.
"The president of the opposition [UNITA] before the elections where did he live? And after the elections where is he living?", he questioned, expressing himself equally "disappointed" with the direction of Adalberto Costa Júnior.
"At that moment I am disappointed with the opposition, because we fought to remove the party in power, but once again the opposition negotiated and when the opposition negotiates, those who benefit are only their deputies and members of the party leadership", he pointed out.
For "Tanaice Neutro", the alleged "negotiation" does not benefit either the militants of that party, much less the people, who will "continue to suffer for another five years".
"So, at that moment I appeal to UNITA and its leaders to position themselves as opposition, if they also position themselves as odd jobs I will also be on their heels", concluded the activist.
"Tanaice Neutro", released on June 23, after being imprisoned for one year and six months, was sentenced, on October 12, 2022, to a suspended prison sentence of one year and three months for committing the crime of outraging the State, its symbols and bodies.
The activist, who was also known as a "political prisoner", even considers that he was only arrested, even after a suspended sentence, for alleged "superior orders".
