According to a communiqué from the provincial government of Huíla, which VerAngola had access to, the management of BrasAfrica-Angola presented the three projects to the government of Huíla this Monday.
"Three self-sustainable and inclusive projects, aimed at family farming, were presented to the provincial government of Huíla, by the management of BrasAfrica-Angola, during the audience that the governor of Huíla, Nuno Mahapi, granted yesterday, Monday, 17 [of July], in the city of Lubango, to those responsible for the Brazilian company that has been operating in Angola for 13 years and is present in 34 countries around the world", reads the note.
According to Sílvio Neto, managing partner of the company, quoted in the statement, the company's focus on the province involves raising high quality breeding and slaughter cattle, as well as cereal production.
"The creation of high quality breeding and slaughter cattle, the production of cereals with emphasis on corn and the production of cassava and its derivatives are part of the intentions of investment in Huíla by BrasAfrica-Angola, with a commitment to training man, as informed Sílvio Neto, managing partner, during the presentation of the projects, assisted by Guilherme Soares, director of the company, and Fernando Morais, from the Commercial Department", says the statement.
The governor of Huíla considered the projects "opportune and sustainable, which empower families, mostly those who live from agriculture".
Also quoted in the note, he added that Huíla "is increasingly committed to promoting and publicizing the 'INVESTHUÍLA – Building Bridges for Sustainable Development' brand, with a focus on agriculture, industry and tourism".
