According to a note from the Provincial Government of Uíge, to which VerAngola had access, in addition to the 10,000 seats, the infrastructure "with UEFA level of category IV and IAAF Athletics category 3" will also comprise "two stalls to house the football of 11, athletics events in the 100 meters hurdles, 200 meters, 400 meters hurdles, 100 relays and 10 thousand meters".
The project, according to the statement, also provides for pole vault, high jump, long jump and triple jump and javelin, shot put and hammer throwing.
The contract will be in charge of Kora Angola and will be completed in three years. The supervision of the construction – which is owned by the Ministry of Youth and Sports – will be Mitrelli's responsibility.
The minister, on the occasion, said that the future stadium "should be proud of the youth" of that province as well as "the lovers of sports", as it will place the stadium, "along with others already existing in the country, at the level of international competitions".
José Carvalho da Rocha, governor of Uíge, who was also present at the act, said that it is important "to value the effort being made by the executive", appealing to the region's youth "to make the most of it, when the its many facets".
He also recalled that he grew up going to the stadium to watch the great games of the Construtores and Futebol Clube do Uíge: "I grew up going to the field to watch the great players of the Construtores and Futebol Clube do Uíge, such as Hermenio, Vici and others".
The act was also attended by members of the provincial government, representatives of defense and security bodies, ecclesiastical entities, traditional authorities, political parties and civil society, with emphasis on sports associations and youth associations.
