Inaugurated the first centrality of Cunene. Apartments cost seven million kwanzas

The first 484 dwellings in the 'Dom Fernando Guimarães Kevanu' centrality, in the city of Ondjiva, Cunene province, were inaugurated this Wednesday by the Minister of Defense, João Ernesto dos Santos.

This is the first centrality built in the province of Cunene, built on an area of ​​21 hectares, which will have one thousand T3 dwellings, incorporated in 165 buildings of two and four floors, with eight apartments each.

Each apartment will be available at the approximate value of seven million kwanzas and access to the residences will comply with the terms of Presidential Decree no. distribution is the exclusive responsibility of the Provincial Government of Cunene, explains a statement to which VerAngola had access.

After this first phase of the project, which began in September 2021, the second - which includes 506 homes - will be completed in the next eight months.

The project also includes the construction of social facilities, with emphasis on 72 commercial stores, a children's center and kindergarten, a health post, primary schools with 24 classrooms and another secondary school with 12 classrooms. A police station, a soccer field with synthetic turf, sports courts and leisure areas, among other support services, are also planned.

At the inauguration, the minister said that the centrality in Cunene justifies the word of the Executive that "is talking and doing", aiming at the materialization of the governance programme. the official also said that the 484 housing units and other support infrastructure, built in just under eight months, are available to citizens so that they can have better living conditions.

The governor of Cunene province, Gerdina Didalelwa, expressed her satisfaction with the entry into operation of the first phase of the centrality, stressing that it provides more dignity to the population and gives a new image to the city of Ondjiva.

The official informed that the provincial government is in the stage of organizing the processes for the candidacies and respective draw, in order to enhance transparency.

The name 'Dom Fernando Guimarães' was given in honor of the first Bishop of the Diocese of Ondkiva, who died in May of this year, at the age of 86.
