The country will be represented by a delegation led by the Minister of Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing, Carlos dos Santos.
In addition to Carlos dos Santos, the delegation is also made up of officials from the Ministry of Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Sustainable Development Goals, the importance of the continued promotion of adequate housing, urban crises, among others, are some of the topics that will be addressed at the meeting, according to a statement, cited by Angop.
Furthermore, the assembly is also expected to see Member States give the green light to the Programme's Strategic Plan for 2026-2029, which has as its main objective to ensure adequate housing, land and basic services for all, in order to transform slums and slums.
In the run-up to the event, more specifically on Wednesday, Carlos dos Santos will meet with the executive director of UN-Habitat and under-secretary general of the United Nations, Anacláudia Rossbach, where they will discuss the progress made by the Angolan government with regard to housing, protection of people living in risk areas, as well as other commitments that Angola has made, within the framework of the New Urban Agenda, writes Angop.
