According to a government statement, to which VerAngola had access, the project was built under the Corimba Marginal Project and the completion of this work - valued at 55 million dollars - will allow "greater fluidity in road traffic and facilitate the connection between the neighborhoods Benfica/Golf 2 and Talatona/Samba".

On the occasion, Manuel Tavares de Almeida, Minister of Public Works and Territorial Planning, informed that it was a priority project: "It was a priority work that we had to complete as quickly as possible to deliver to the citizens that circulate here. we reached the goal, concluded and inaugurated".

Cited in the note, the minister also considered that it is a work with very special engineering characteristics that is innovative for the country and that it agrees on a path to follow.

"To carry out engineering works that can in fact put our country at the level of other countries that have high-level road infrastructures. Therefore, it is in that path", he said.

He also made it known that the Nó de Talatona is the 21st to be completed under the Special Plan for the Province of Luanda, which foresees the construction of 41 road junctions.

"It is part of the sector's strategy to build other viaducts, such as the Cuca one, across the railway. At Deolinda Rodrigues, the junction that comes from Zango also needs a viaduct and there are many others", said the minister.

According to the note, the Special Works Plan for the Province of Luanda includes city sanitation projects and others such as "structuring roadways that prevent the passage of interprovincial traffic in urban areas".

"I am referring to the need to build the second ring road, diverting traffic coming from the south, via road n.º 100, from Ramiros and exiting at Kifangondo. it leaves from Cabolombo to Barra do Kwanza, and from Kifangondo to Caxito. In this sense, we have to build new bridges in Kifangondo, like double bridges", said the official.

In turn, Ana Paula de Carvalho, governor of Luanda, stressed the importance of the project, considering it as a valuable asset for the province.

"We practically have the main axes in good condition. There are still some secondary and tertiary roads that could help traffic flow more. But, with this gain that we have here today, in particular, I think it will greatly improve both the municipality of Talatona, Luanda, Kilamba Kiaxi and even the municipality of Belas", she said, also quoted in the note.
