According to a statement sent to VerAngola, the bank's General Shareholders' Meeting appointed three new members to the board of directors, "with their registration having already been approved by the National Bank of Angola".

Thus, according to the note, among the new members are the names of Miguel Raposo Alves (Chairman of the Executive Committee), Mauro Santos Neves for the role of Executive Director and José Carlos Burity, as Independent Non-Executive Director.

According to the bank, this restructuring appears "following the replacement request submitted, about a year ago, by Daniel Carvalho dos Santos, justified by personal and family reasons", as well as by the "need to conform to the government, and in particular the constitution of the governing bodies of Atlântico with the new regulatory requirements of the National Bank of Angola".

The statement also notes that the institution's shareholders and board of directors expressed "their recognition to Daniel Carvalho dos Santos, for his high professionalism, rigor and dedication, in fulfilling all the responsibilities that have been entrusted to him over the years in which he chaired the Executive Committee" of the bank, counting on his cooperation in a new phase "which is now beginning, in which he will be dedicated to the Vice-Presidency of the Board of Directors".

Until he was appointed CEO of the bank, Miguel Raposo Alves was Managing Director & CEO at Hemera Capital Partners. According to the statement, the official has more than 25 years of experience in the international financial sector, "with a track record in several countries, including Angola".

In turn, the note adds, Mauro dos Santos Neves has "more than 12 years of experience in the Angolan banking sector, marked by a career in the Atlantic with senior roles and practice in the areas of financial markets and asset management, in structuring, directing and negotiation of several lines of credit and trade finance with international financial institutions".

José Carlos Burity, who will become part of the institution's board, "fulfilling the adequacy requirements demanded by the National Bank of Angola", has a vast professional background in credit risk management and corporate governance, highlighting his "active participation in the strengthening and expansion of institutional and business relationships with correspondent banks and multilateral institutions for the feasibility of trade finance and correspondence banking transactions with emerging markets, especially those integrated in the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries".
