Angolan swimmers Salvador Gordo and Catarina Sousa confirmed for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games

The swimmers Salvador Gordo and Catarina Sousa will represent Angola in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, confirmed this Sunday the president of the Angolan Swimming Federation, Joaquim dos Santos.

Salvador Gordo, 18, secured qualification for the 100-meter butterfly event by adding 720 points, while Catarina Sousa, 21, will compete in the 100-meter freestyle after accounting 657.

The two swimmers beat Pedro Pinotes, from Sporting, Henriques Mascarenhas, who trains in England, and Daniel Francisco and Lia Lima, who are preparing in Rio Maior.

In the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, which will be held between July 23 and August 8, Angola will be represented in the sailing competitions, by the women's handball team and judoka Diassonema Neide, African champion in 2019.
