In the note, sent to the Venerando Counselor Judge Manuel Miguel da Costa Aragão, President of the TC, and cited by Angop, João Lourenço requested that "the assessment be made in an urgent regime".
The National Assembly (NA) approved, on June 22, with 152 votes in favour, none against and 56 abstentions, the first partial revision of the Constitution, 11 years after its entry into force.
With this revision, the Constitution now has 249 articles against the current 244, having been amended 44 articles and included seven new ones.
