The government recently announced that a public tender will be held this year to hire 25,000 health professionals as the infrastructures that are being built under the Integrated Plan for Intervention in the Municipalities come into operation.
In statements to Angop, the Health Minister, Silvia Lutucuta did not indicate a specific date for the concretization of the contest.
The sector is committed to hire new professionals to fight the lack of staff in several hospital areas in the country, said the minister.
Speaking on the sidelines of the act of laying the first stone for the rehabilitation of the Luau Municipal Hospital, the holder of the Health portfolio considered that the 26 thousand and 90 professionals who were admitted in the 2018 and 2019 tenders are insufficient to meet the current needs of the country.
Sílvia Lutucuta also took the opportunity to advance that a training of specialty doctors is underway in the country.
Launched by the Ministry of Health, this training covers several areas that will ensure primary health care in the municipalities.
