Health Minister lays the first stone for the requalification of the Luau hospital

The minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta, this Thursday launched the foundation stone for the requalification, expansion and equipping of the Municipal Hospital of Luau, which seven months ago was hit by floods that destroyed a large part of the facilities.

The requalification of the Municipal Hospital of Luau is part of the PIIM works, within the scope of priorities, and will take six to seven months to be completed, says a statement from the Ministry of Health that VerAngola had access to.

The health unit, which works as the reference institution in the city, will have all the services available to provide medical and drug response to patients.

According to the Minister of Health, for this year 2021 a specialized training program for doctors was created at national level and the province of Moxico will be part of it.

"Family doctors, specialists in obstetrical gynecology, general surgeons, anesthesiologists, intensivists, orthopedists and pediatricians will be trained," said the minister.

With the entry into operation of the hospital, it is expected to employ around 230 new professionals, the Government is still advancing.

The act of laying the foundation stone for the requalification, expansion and equipping of the Municipal Hospital of Luau was witnessed by the provincial governor, Gonçalves Muandumba.
