TAP and TAAG announce 10 Luanda-Lisbon flights in July

The airlines TAP and TAAG will make 10 flights in July to connect the Angolan capital, Luanda, which remains under a health fence due to the covid-19, to Portugal.

According to information from the Portuguese consulate in Luanda, a TAP flight was operated on the Luanda-Lisbon route this Wednesday night, at 9:45 pm, with the following scheduled for Friday, and next Wednesday, July 15 , At the same time.

The return flights to Portugal are the responsibility of the airlines, and those interested should contact TAP and the travel agencies directly.

The carrier TAAG also plans to carry out seven flights in July, on 9, 14, 16, 21, 23.28 and 30, departing at 11:30 am from Luanda and arriving at 7:00 pm in Lisbon, Jornal de Angola reported.

This Wednesday, TAAG operated two humanitarian flights to Johannesburg, South Africa, for the repatriation of Angolan citizens, departing at 8:00 am and 8:50 am from Luanda and returning the same day in the late afternoon.

Angola closed all its borders on 20 March, in an attempt to contain the covid-19 pandemic, allowing only special passenger (humanitarian and repatriation) and cargo flights, subject to authorization by the authorities.

The number of cases has increased dramatically in recent weeks, leading the Government to extend the health fence of Luanda until 9 August and imposing a new fence on the municipality of Cazengo, in Cuanza Norte, the only province outside Luanda where infections were registered.
