Isabel dos Santos wanted to be paid in cash after assets were seized

After the angolan court seized Isabel dos Santos' assets, the businesswoman allegedly asked Unitel, where she is the administrator, for her salary, worth around 50,000 dollars net per month, to be paid in cash instead of the usual bank transfer.

According to the news advanced by the newspaper Público this Monday, Isabel dos Santos will have presented her request via letter. I ask "that from today's date the form of payment of the agreed remuneration be made in cash and in hand, for withdrawal at the headquarters of the company or at a branch of the bank that will be indicated to me by V / for this purpose," said the businesswoman, in a letter from April reported by Público.

However, the entrepreneur allegedly threatened the other administrators of Unitel with the advancement of a judicial proceeding after her request was rejected by the administration of the operator.

The businesswoman owns 25 per cent of Unitel and, although her assets have been seized, Isabel dos Santos continues to be part of the board of directors until May of next year, thus being able to continue receiving salary.

As for Efacec, where the Portuguese state decided to nationalise, the daily highlights that the purchase made by the businesswoman was financed by bank accounts of the offshores of Malta and the Madeira Free Zone.
