In the note, the governor of Cabinda, Marcos Nhunga, addressed a message of condolences to the Portuguese embassy and to the Portuguese community resident in the province, estimated at more than 150 Portuguese citizens.
António Morgadinho, a native of Santa Maria dos Olivais, Lisbon, who died on the 2nd of this month, at the age of 70, was appointed honorary consul of Portugal in Cabinda, in 2017, after an informal collaboration with the consulate general, which dates back to 1999.
The consulate general stressed in his note that the honorary consul was also a businessman, a former leader of the local football team Sporting de Cabinda and worked for the Portuguese community and in strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Angola and Portugal.
