The statement also points out that Kundi Paihama, one of the emblematic figures of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), "was always present in the most difficult moments, with the strength, courage and determination that was required".
In the document, the office of the current Interior Minister recalls that Kundi Paihama was chosen, in 1979, at the age of 35, to oversee the ministerial department, highlighting other functions performed by the general, including the positions of Minister of State Security, Minister of Insertion and State Control, Minister of National Defense, Minister of Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, Provincial Governor of Luanda, Huíla, Benguela, Huambo and Cunene.
"We recognize the service provided by this brave nationalist, whose effort has contributed to the achievement of the country's social, economic and political development", notes the note, which says that he is certain that "the coming generations" will dedicate themselves "to the study of this great personality ".

Kundi Paihama died in Luanda, aged 75, from illness.
