The request came in a letter. In the document, signed by Bolsonaro and posted by his son on Twitter, the Brazilian president talks about the most recent conflicts between the Angolan and Brazilian pastors of the UCKG in Angola: "I would like to bring to your attention our concern about the recent episodes in Angola of invasions of temples and other installations of the UCKG".
Speaking of "reports of aggressions against members of the UCKG, who in certain cases would have been expelled from their homes," Bolsonaro says that it is necessary "to prevent such events from recurring or being characterized as a consequence of 'internal disputes'".
"There are nearly 500 pastors of the UCKG in Angola and, in this universe, 65 are Brazilians," he recalls, adding that the acts of violence were provoked by former members of the UCKG, "who have also raised accusations and, with this, motivated police diligences at the headquarters of the entity and the homes of its leaders".
The leader concludes by justifying the request: that "the protection of the members of the UCKG be increased in order to guarantee their physical and material integrity and the restitution of property and dwellings, while the deliberations in the relevant bodies continue".
