Helena Xiang, spokeswoman for the City of China in Luanda, a commercial space located in the municipality of Viana, said that the community's spread of the pandemic in the country "is becoming increasingly serious".

According to Helena Xiang, the City of China is a large public shopping center, with a high flow of people, where despite the preventive measures taken by shopkeepers, the first two cases of the new coronavirus were registered in two Chinese citizens residing in Angola.

"These are the first cases in the Chinese community, and we warn that preventing and combating the new coronavirus cannot be neglected or neglected at any time," he said.

The spokeswoman for the shopping center, with more than 300 company stores from China, Angola, the United States, Portugal, India, Turkey and Lebanon, and more than 4000 Angolan workers, said she believed that "everyone will raise awareness in the sense of implement the prevention and combat measures "of covid-19.

"At the moment, the Chinese community is calm," guaranteed Helena Xiang, stressing that business operations at the site are suspended due to the sanitary fence, noting that the survey of the same depends on the results of the tests that will be carried out by the health authorities.

According to the official, the suspension of business "will certainly impact the commercialization and survival of tenants, but also the jobs of local workers".

However, conducting covid-19 tests for all people will facilitate the rapid identification of suspected sources of the spread of the new coronavirus and the rapid dispatch of identified cases for medical treatment, reducing the risk of community contagion.

"That is why everyone in China is cooperating in carrying out the tests. We are confident that the competent health department will implement the relevant test work and achieve the results as soon as possible, and then release the sanitary fence," he said.

Last Friday, China City initiated an immediate contingency plan, after becoming aware of the two suspected cases, and quarantining them.

Another 19 people in direct contact were tracked and quickly identified, said Helena Xiang, who is also in quarantine.

"At the same time, the pandemic notification was sent, issued to warn shopkeepers and take the necessary care, and on Monday night we received information on confirmed cases," he said.

The sanitary fence, which temporarily limits the entry and exit of people, was implemented on Tuesday by the health authorities of Angola, and the national health team has already completed the investigation and screening work in collaboration with tenants.

"On the 23rd of July (this Thursday) everyone in China will be tested," said the official.

Approximately 300 Chinese citizens work and live in the City of China, as well as 3000 Angolans with fixed work and another 1000 indirectly.
