Angolan elected chairman of the SADC Audit Committee

Angolan Nvela Mário António, a senior member of the Angolan Court of Auditors, was elected president of the Audit Committee of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), replacing the Mozambican Jeremias Zuand.

In a press release, the Court of Auditors states that the election took place during the 28th Meeting of the SADC Audit Committee, held on 7 July by video conference.

"The act also revealed itself as an expressive gain in Angolan diplomacy", affirms the Angolan judicial instance.

Nvela Mário António, head of section of the 8th Technical Division of the Court of Auditors of Angola, will hold the new position for a period of two years.

According to the Court of Auditors, the experience in preparing the opinion to the General State Account, financial reports, risk management and / or internal control contributed to the election of the Angolan.

The new chairman of the SADC Audit Committee, based in Botswana, has a degree in Economics in the specialty of accounting and auditing and a master's degree in Oil and Gas Business Law and Management.
