Despite having been away from the pitch recently due to an injury, from which he recently recovered, Bastos Quissanga was one of the 35 choices made by Portuguese Renato Paiva, coach of Brazilian club Botafogo, for this competition, writes Angop.

A key player in the team, the Angolan was elected best defender in the 'Brasileirão 2024' last season.

The 34-year-old player graduated from Petro de Luanda, and has also played for FK Rostov (Russia), Lazio (Italy) and Al Ain FC (United Arab Emirates).

Domingos Andrade is one of the 34 players called up by Martín Anselmi, coach of Portuguese club FC Porto.

The Angolan, who currently plays for the Portuguese club's B team, was signed by FC Porto last year.

Domingos Andrade is 22 years old and graduated from Interclube. The player also played for FC Felgueiras and Sporting, where he played for the under-19 and under-23 teams.

These are the two Angolans who will play in the FIFA Club World Cup. According to Angop, of the 148 Africans who will participate in the competition, Morocco (31) and South Africa (31) are the countries with the greatest representation.

Next comes Tunisia, with 25 athletes, Egypt with 23 players and Mali with eight athletes.

The list also includes five players from Nigeria, four from Algeria, three from Senegal, three from Ghana, two from Angola, two from Cameroon and two from Ivory Coast.

According to Angop, the African countries Burkina Faso, Guinea, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Gabon, Mozambique, Namibia, Togo, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe will also be represented with one player each.

The FIFA Club World Cup is made up of a total of eight groups.
