At least 17 special diamond stones, produced by the mining companies of Lulo, Kaixepa, Chitotolo and Luele, were auctioned by SODIAM, as part of the 14th auction supervised by the state-owned company, whose evaluation sessions took place between Monday and Thursday of last week.

According to SODIAM, the net value raised in the auction, which included the participation of 17 companies from the main diamond centers in the world, was 15.5 million dollars with the sale of 865.19 carats, a result that “exceeded the expected value by 23.33 percent”.

The current format of the auction, whose 14th edition ended this Friday, “has gained increasing confidence from mining companies and buyers, due to the transparency of the process”, says the company in a statement.

For the Chairman of the Board of Directors of SODIAM, Eugénio Bravo da Rosa, quoted in the statement, the results obtained in this auction “proved the improvements in terms of demand and prices that have been seen in the market in recent weeks”, bringing “comfort to national production”.
