To this end, a delegation from this company, headed by Dharmesh Dholakia, is in Angola and was received by the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Sodiam and Endiama.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Mineral Resources to which VerAngola had access, this visit by the delegation was intended to assess the conditions for investment in the country, through the installation of two diamond cutting factories at the Saurimo Diamond Development Hub, with the first scheduled for later this year.
On Wednesday, the diamond cutting company's delegation took a guided tour of the facilities at the hub, seeing "the factories in operation and others under construction, the sources of electricity, with emphasis on the hybrid power plant, accommodation conditions and the Diamond Assessment and Cutting Training Centre – CEFOLAD".
After the visit, the members of the delegation were surprised by "the impressive infrastructure created", as well as by the "quality of training of national technicians and the administrative facilities for investment in diamond cutting activities".
It is worth remembering that this hub was inaugurated in 2021 by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
"The hub has an area of 305,185.74 square meters and creates facilities and a business environment conducive to bringing together a significant number of companies linked to the diamond industry, especially those linked to the cutting of precious stones, offering a modern infrastructure suited to the needs of investors", says the statement.
Hari Krishna Exports has more than eight million "workers spread across its cutting factories" and has a "significant global presence, with offices and operations in important diamond markets, such as Dubai, New York, Hong Kong and Antwerp, in addition to Surat in India where it is headquartered", says the note.
