The creation of this team follows a complaint posted on social media reporting "alleged failures in the provision of medical care and improper conduct in the care provided" to a citizen, the GPL reported in a statement to which VerAngola had access.
"The provincial government of Luanda informs (...) that, due to the complaint widely circulated on social media, reporting alleged failures in the provision of medical care and improper conduct in the care provided to citizen Domingos António, which occurred at the General Hospital of Luanda, it is necessary to investigate the facts related to the possible abandonment and failure to provide care to the aforementioned patient", the note reads.
In this way, it continues, the Central Agency's Inquiry Team was created, "with the objective of providing technical and institutional support to the Inspection of the Provincial Health Office of Luanda".
José Solino Joel, Inspector General of Health and Pharmaceutical Activities, is the coordinator of this investigation committee, which has as deputy coordinator the national director of Hospitals, Benedito Hernani da Silva Quinta.
The committee is also composed of Mutombo Mavunza (director of the legal office of the Ministry of Health), Djamila Cavaleiro Príncipe (director of the ethics and humanization office), Julieta de Carvalho (clinical director of the Lucrécia Paím Maternity Hospital) and Ferraz Bráz (nurse at the David Bernardino Pediatric Hospital).
"The investigation committee now created must present the results of its work within fifteen days," the GLP also states.
