According to a statement from the CFL, the first passenger train with around 105 people on board, operated by a private entity, will depart at 6:00 am from Bungo station, bound for Dondo station, where it should arrive at 11:00 am.
The composition will consist of a GE-C30 locomotive, three first-class carriages, a lounge bar and a generator car.
The Luanda Railroad link crosses three provinces (Luanda, Cuanza Norte and Malanje) and divides at Zenza do Itombe in a 55-kilometre branch to Dondo, while the line from Luanda continues to Malanje for a total of of 424 kilometres.
Currently, only goods trains circulate to Malanje, while passenger trains essentially run suburban services.
