Education and health professionals, among others, from the public sector, have not yet received last month's salary and admit to paralyzing their activities.
The National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) considers it "unacceptable" that the situation continues, 13 days after the beginning of the month, without the executive having explained the reasons for the delay, "causing dramatic consequences for the lives of employees and their families, deprived of their already insufficient income".
In a press release, the UNITA Parliamentary Group urged the executive to resolve "this irregularity" quickly and to clarify the reasons for the delay, which has become recurrent, "at a time when the country has been raising large amounts of resources with the price of a barrel of oil".
He also warns of the consequences of the delay in payment of salaries in the education system, at a time when the 2022/23 school year is almost over, "as its operators have to worry about finding alternatives to their survival and that of their dependents ".
Lusa sought clarification on the delays from the Ministry of Finance, with no response so far.
