According to a note from the Provincial Government of Benguela, which VerAngola had access to, the inauguration ceremony, which took place last Friday, was witnessed by the Provincial Governor of Benguela, Luís Nunes.

Lima Massano, speaking on the occasion, referred that the two undertakings respond to the "line of work that the Executive intends to continue to develop", which is related to the "diversification of the economy and the increase in the supply of goods and services for the population".

Quoted in the note, the minister considered that they had to "continue to create conditions" so that factories of this style continue to appear in Angola. "We have to continue to create conditions for units of this kind to continue to emerge in our country," he said.

The Minister of State for Economic Coordination also considered that, "with these undertakings the Government is increasing national production, creating jobs for youth and at the same time improving the living conditions of citizens", reads the statement.

The fishery is called 'Mormolo' and is located in Caota. According to Angop, the infrastructure involved an investment of around 13 million euros and has a monthly capacity of 100 tons.

"This is one of the most modern processing plants in the country and in Africa, with European standards", said one of the unit's shareholders, Miguel Seabra, adding that this is the first factory in Angola certified to exploit octopus by the European Union.

Cited by Angop, the shareholder also said that last Friday the first export took place, with 30 tons of octopus being sent to Portugal. In internal terms, he said that the fishery is already responding to the national market and added: "We have a vessel that is also a factory. It goes out for a twenty-day trip, with two shifts, and in addition to the capture, it processes, freezes and packs" .

The gypsum derivatives factory is located in the municipality of Catumbela. According to Angop, the factory unit is capable of processing 400 thousand tons of gypsum powder annually.

Regarding the raw material, João Gourgel, chairman of the Board of Directors of the factory, informed that they do not need to import it as it obtains material from the rocks of Santa Clara, Dombe Grande commune, writes Angop.

With a share capital of one million dollars, the unit exported its first container last Friday, said the person in charge, who did not provide details. "We have plans to export gypsum rock, at a rate of 600,000 tons, in a first phase to African countries, such as the Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana and Nigeria", he added, quoted by Angop.

It should be noted that the inauguration act was witnessed by the Secretary of the President of the Republic for the Productive Sector, Isaac dos Anjos, the Ministers of Commerce and Industry, Economy, Fisheries and Marine Resources, among others.
