These lands, according to Angop, are in the possession of individuals without the capacity to boost large-scale production. Thus, according to Luís Marcelo Ndala, municipal administrator, a survey is being carried out by the administration in the communes of Galangue and Vicungo, in which there are lands in the hands of citizens who do not invest.
The official also warned of the fact that they had "a lot of land available", and "there must be responsibility". "We have a lot of land available, which is why there needs to be responsibility, especially from the business community that has the titles to the land, which must start investing, or they will lose ownership, because what will happen is that we will enter into a legal process and detach the owners , to be passed on to serious investors," he said, speaking to Angop.
Thus, the municipal administrator added that he had already started work on a communication between the legal office and the residents' commissions, which have the aspect of solving the administrative-legal circumstances and, subsequently, start a deep work, writes Angop.
Luís Ndala also expressed the fact that the municipality is open to new investments, both from businessmen from the country and abroad, given that there is land and water.
On the occasion, he also took the opportunity to regret that, to make matters worse, in recent years another 15,000 hectares have been made available to investors, however, the said hectares are still not in production, writes Angop.
The administrator also underlined the fact that Angola has potential and manages to impose its agriculture on the continent, adding that the municipality of Cuvango has potential, mainly in terms of water resources. "We have a country with potential and can impose its agriculture in Africa, as only Cuvango has potential, especially in terms of water resources, with two rivers with permanent flows and their tributaries", he said.
It should be noted that the municipality's lands are bathed by the Cubango and Cutato rivers.
