The invitation – according to a statement from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, which VerAngola had access to – was made this Thursday. "Minister Diamantino Azevedo invited, this Thursday, 29, the president of Equinor, Anders Opedal, to visit Angola, in September this year, for the inauguration of the Sonangol Research and Development Center, in Sumbe", reads in the note.
Already at the meeting – which took place at Equinor's headquarters –, the holder of the Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas portfolio called for "greater cooperation between Equinor and Sonangol in the field of research and development of new solutions", whether with regard to exploration of hydrocarbons, or with regard to the implementation of renewable energy projects, says the note.
In turn, Equinor "presented strategy and transparency as the key to the success of the doing business of its branch in Angola, as well as its strategy in relation to the energy transition", says the statement.
The national delegation, which concludes the visit to Norway in the city of Stavanger, was previously at the "Directorate of Petroleum where it exchanged knowledge and experiences on local content, training of human capital, as well as legislation related to the regulation on exploration of small oil fields".
Remember that Diamantino Azevedo has been in Norway since last Monday, as part of a working visit, which ends this Thursday, June 29th.
